Age Progression

A

n age progression is completed when a detective needs assistance in attempting to locate a wanted fugitive or missing child. In the case of a wanted fugitive the detective will provide the forensic artist with the last known photograph of the fugitive and any information, lifestyle, employment, history of disease, etc., that would assist the artist in determining the rate of aging needed to complete the drawing. The study of aging factors of the human face is of great concern to the forensic artist, and when armed with the necessary information, an educated approximation of the aging process can be completed with a high rate of accuracy.
